Welcome!

MISSION: We gather together in community to find opportunities to engage in actions that protect our democracy.

We are three friends that wanted to invite more people into action at this critical time in our country. Gathering together to nourish ourselves, and then, strengthened in community, raise our voices to fight for our democracy.

ATTEND A DINNER

Family and friends have asked how they can be more involved, and we are called to answer. Let’s start with gathering and enjoying a simple meal together in community. Afterwards we’ll sit around the tables and share our thoughts, stories, suggestions, and ideas. We’ll discover collective actions we can take towards fighting for our democracy. Doing this work together feels supportive and builds positive momentum. We love to find new people who are interested in joining us. All are welcome! We look forward to gathering together!

HOST A DINNER

If you are interested in getting your friends, families, colleagues and neighbors to take collective action towards protecting our democracy, considering hosting your own Dinner for Democracy! Plan for about two hours and anywhere from 12 to 25 people.

Suggested Guidelines for Hosting a Dinner

  • 30-40 minutes – Socialize and share a simple meal together (a bowl of soup or chili).
  • 20-30 minutes – Share your agenda for the evening. Have a few individuals that are already active in community outreach share their stories and actions.
  • 45 minutes – Invite others to share their thoughts and experiences. Educate each other and recognize fears and roadblocks. Discuss how you can build together.
  • 10-20 minutes – Discuss current actions that we can take – what’s next? Be ready to suggest how we can raise our voices and get engaged. Actions include attending local events and rallies together, hosting/attending postcard writing campaigns, boycotting together, and community food drives. Develop your own resource guide for your group.
